About:
My practice predominantly revolves around the notion of research. In a similar manner to a journalist, the process of embarking on something new and transforming a topic alien to me into something tangible is a process I find exciting. To then be able to use this process to inform an audience in a visual way is very rewarding, and a primary motivation in my work.
I enjoy the challenge of tackling topics of a sensitive nature, and in doing so feel it important to promote an ethical practice. In my work I try to go beyond voyeurism by actively engaging with multiple facets of the subject matter, open mindedly and without conscious bias.
Form and content directly informing each other has become a central theme in my work and the visual outcomes of my projects are diverse as a result. Be it ink drawing or sculpture, printmaking or coding, the visual language of each project evolves from a belief that each topic has a visually unique way of telling its own story.
