STUDENT DEBT - 6.3%

 

Despite a majority of students at university having a student loan, many are unaware of the scale of our loan interest rates. I wanted to visually communicate to fellow students what 6.3% compound interest would physically look like. The outcome needed to simplify the complicated figures, in a humorous and memorable way.

I discovered that if 6.3% compound interest is applied to the weight of university student’s rucksack, after the equivalent of the loans tenure, it would weigh the same as a square foot of concrete.
